From the Heart: The Lamb of God

Jesus is the most unusual person that has ever walked on the face of this earth. He is the human Son of God, yet He has always been “God.” John wrote in his gospel letter starting in verse one: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Then in verse 14 he says: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” He is the “God-man.” Fully God and fully man.

From the Heart: Our Helper

It is a wonderful thing to know that we don’t have to face the storms of life alone. Our God has sent a heavenly Helper to give us His strength and encouragement and with His help we can do all things.

From the Heart: Qualified to Serve

If you consider yourself too weak or inadequate to serve the Lord, take heart! God is looking for these very qualities in a person. Someone weak and humble, someone He can mold and make strong. With your humble submission He can accomplish great things. I’ve heard it said that you can be too big for God to use, but you can never be too small.

From the Heart: Peace Be With You

Did you ever look at your life and wonder what Jesus might think? What He might be feeling? What He might want to say to you? I have, and I am always humbled knowing that my sins put Jesus on that cross. But my sorrow turns to joy when I realize that He is not angry at me, even though He has every right to be.

From the Heart: Alive Again

When you get older it’s easy to look back and remember all those that have died, gone on to the Lord’s new world. To that heavenly home he has prepared for all his children. But you see God doesn’t leave us with scarred hearts and no joy. Even though some that we love died, there are others being born that can fill our hearts with joy. My wife and I have nine grandchildren and they can surely light up your life just by their presence. And I thank my God for each and every one. They are true blessings.

From the Heart: Our Thorn In The Flesh

In almost every area of our life, there is no gain without some type of pain. But our greatest payoff potential is when we choose to suffer with Christ in order to help others and honor God.

From the Heart: Our Inner Struggles

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. — Romans 8:38-39

From the Heart: Why Go To Church?

If we truly consider God to be our God then worship should be a vital part of our lives. As God’s people we should always be ready to bow before Him and exalt His name. And just between you and me I can’t think of a better place to do that than in His house with His people.

From the Heart: God’s Gift of Marriage

And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”

From the Heart: Children of God

As we read through our bibles it’s not surprising to see that we are called servants, or slaves of God. And in our natural, unredeemed state we are enemies of God, alienated from Him and indeed without hope in this world. But the apostle John brings home the great truth that because of Christ’s saving death on the cross and His glorious resurrection we can all become “Children of God.”
