From the Heart: I’ll See You Over There

1Thess. 4:14-18

Think about that! Every father, mother, son, daughter or best friend who has died in the Lord will be with Jesus when He returns to gather His own to Himself. In verse 17, Paul declares that we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together “With Them,” to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. What a joyous coming together of all God’s children! AMEN!

I read recently about this mother who was very sick. She had been hospitalized for a couple of weeks and knew her time was drawing near. She had two sons and they had been diligent to stay with their mother for days. As the shadows of the evening began to close in she called her sons to her bedside and said, “Y’all go on home now and get your rest, Mama’s gonna be alright. And as they were about to leave she gave them both a big hug and a kiss on the cheek and she said, “If I don’t see you in the morning, I’ll see you over there.”

Some time during the night she slipped quietly away into the arms of her Savior. When her boys arrived the next morning and found her, they remembered her last words, and took comfort in knowing that she was at peace now and one day they would see her again.

Does your heart ache because of a loved one you have lost. God promises that all His Children will be reunited on that last day. There is a short poem by Blackmore that says —–

Oh, what a meeting, there in the skies,
No tears nor crying shall dim our eyes,
Loved ones united eternally,
Oh, what a day break that morn will be!

It has been said, that separation is the law of the earth and reunion is the law of heaven. Amen!

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, What a friend we have in Jesus. For He has made it possible that although we are separated in death we can be reunited in life eternal.
In Jesus Holy Name, AMEN!
